| What happens if I have an emergency abroad? | |
![]() | If you have an accident or need medical treatment for an illness, you or the hospital that is treating you should contact the 24 hour Emergency Assistance Service. The Emergency Assistance Service will confirm your cover and handle all negotiations on your behalf. | Am I covered for Emergency Repatriation? | |

| What does Winter Sports insurance normally cover? | |
![]() | This cover is only applicable if the winter sports premium has been paid. 1. Your ski equipment is insured up to the cover levels as shown on your policy for loss, damage or if stolen in transit. Please note that having your skis stolen from outside a restaurant will not be covered. This is known as ‘unattended’ equipment and would not be covered unless specified in the policy terms and conditions. 2. If you skis are damaged you will be may claim up to the amounts described in the policy. Please note the single item limit, a pair of skis is one item and this also applies to a snowboard and bindings. 3. If your own ski equipment is lost or damaged you will be covered to hire ski equipment up to the value shown in the schedule of cover. 4. Your ski pack will be insured up to the limits of the policy schedule for the proportionate value of any ski pass, ski hire or tuition fee necessarily unused due to your accident or sickness or the loss or theft of your ski pass., 5. Piste closure is only available between 1st January and 31st March, if there is a lack of snow in your resort. 6. In the event that, due to lack of snow fall or adverse weather in the pre-booked winter sports resort between the months of January, February, March and no alternative being available, you are not allowed to ski for a period in excess of 12 hours, the Insurer will pay the benefit as shown in the Schedule of Cover for each full 24 hour period in which you are unable to ski, up to the maximum as shown in the Schedule of Cover. |
| Am I covered to Ski off Piste? | |

| How do I make a booking? | |

| Can non-UK residents purchase your travel insurance? | |
![]() | Yes. Our policies are available to residents of all EU countries. We also provide cover for Australian, New Zealand and South African passport holders who are temporary residents in EU countries. |
| What do I do if I have a pre-existing medical condition? | |
![]() | PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS If you cannot agree to the following points, for you or anyone travelling with you, cover for these conditions will be excluded under Sections A, B & C unless you receive approval of cover for such medical condition from Pre-Screening UK. An additional premium may be required if you require cover for certain conditions a) Nobody is waiting for an operation, hospital consultation or any other hospital treatment or investigations including the results of a routine test. (b) Nobody has been seen by a specialist or been admitted to a hospital overnight in the last twelve months. (c) Nobody has any breathing or heart problem (including angina) or high blood pressure which has needed treatment (including regular medication) in the last two years. (d) Nobody has received treatment, including regular medication, in the last 12 months for any of the following: · disorder of the blood such as clotting, bleeding or anaemia
· any form of stroke · Any form of cancer, leukaemia or tumour · a transplant or dialysis treatment · any psychiatric illness, stress, depression, anxiety or dementia · any other pre-existing and on-going medical condition that has required regular medication (e) Nobody has been diagnosed by a registered doctor as having a terminal condition (f) Nobody has been diagnosed as being pregnant with an expected delivery date within 16 weeks of the trip return date (g) I do not know of any reason why the trip is likely to be cancelled or cut short or of any facts that may cause a claim on this insurance What will happen when you call Pre Screening UK This quotation is valid for 14 days from the date given. If cover can be provided, you will be given an acceptance code and a letter will be sent to you upon receipt of payment, detailing the extension of cover. Please read this letter carefully and keep it with your insurance documents as it confirms the terms of the cover. Please note that cover is not effective until you are in receipt of this letter. | What is the situation if I discover I am pregnant before travelling? | |
![]() | Our policy states that you must have returned from your holiday at 30 weeks of your pregnancy. There are other points to consider though, for example if you are under the GP for monitoring purposes. If you are unsure, please call the medical screening line for confirmation. |
| What happens if my flight is delayed beyond the insurance period? | |
![]() | If your flight is delayed on the homeward journey and you do not get back into the country until after your policy has expired your cover will continue until you reach home. |
| What is the maximum length of any one trip I can take on an annual multi-trip policy? | |
![]() | Our annual policies can cover for trips of 17, 31, 45, 60, 90 or 120 days duration on any single trip. Policies with trip durations of 45 days or more, will also allow 17 days winter Sports activities free of charge. |
| Can people with an annual multi trip travel independently? | |
![]() | Adults can travel independently but children must travel with one of the insured adults. |
| What do I do if I am travelling with valuables? | |
![]() | Valuables are covered under the personal property section. Depending on the level of cover you have purchased, there is a limit to the amount that you can claim. Limits are for your valuables in total and also for single items. If you require a higher limit for personal property or valuables, we can arrange additional cover. However, you should check on your Home Insurance to see if it will cover your personal belongings whilst out of the country |
| Can I cancel my travel insurance? | |
![]() | We provide a 14 day cooling-off period in which you are entitled to a full refund of your premium if the insurance does not meet your needs and provided the commencement date has not passed and that you have not travelled. You should return the documents to us together with your reason for cancellation. Your disinclination to travel or refusal of a visa application is not a reason for cancellation There is no refund for cancellation after this period has expired, or for early return. |
| When can I book Insurance? | |
![]() | It is best to book your insurance as soon as you have booked and paid for your holiday. This will then give you cancellation cover should you not be able to travel due to a medical emergency or other circumstances beyond your control. If you are booking for a single trip you will be covered automatically for cancellation from the day you booked and paid for your policy. If you are taking an Annual Multi Trip policy then your cancellation cover does not come into effect until your policy starts. If you have booked and paid for a trip it is advisable to start your policy the same day that you purchase it. |
| How long can I travel for on a Backpacker policy? | |
![]() | You can be covered for up to 15 months out of the country on a single trip. Cover can be extended whilst out of the country up to a maximum of 18 months in total. Cover ceases when you return to the UK (or arrive in your home country in the event of a one way trip) and the policy becomes invalid. |
| Can I travel on a one-way ticket? | |

| One of my family is ill, am I covered for cancellation? | |
![]() | You are covered up to the sums insured for unavoidable cancellation due to the death, disablement or illness of an immediate relative or any person you are intending to travel with, provided you were not aware of this at the time of arranging your insurance. However, you will only be insured for unexpected events. |
| I am an EU resident, already abroad, am I able to book insurance? | |

| Can I extend my cover whilst I am away? | |
![]() | Yes. You must either purchase another policy online, or contact us on +44 (0)1353 699082 or by email: to admin@globelink.uk.com But, you must arrange the additional cover before the original policy expires as a gap in cover is not permitted. |
| Can I work while I am abroad? | |
![]() | Yes. You can work in either non manual employment or manual work using hand held tools only and at ground level. Any other type of work must be referred to us with full information for the insurer??�s consideration. |
| If I have an accident or injury whilst skiing, will I be covered for mountain rescue? | |
![]() | Helicopter rescue is available but only if deemed medically necessary by the treating paramedic and if the area is able to accommodate the landing of a helicopter. |
| If I am taken ill onboard a cruise ship am I covered to be airlifted to hospital? | |
![]() | If there is an immediate need for a rescue helicopter it will be called either from the ship or through the Emergency Services. |
| I have a medical condition but I am unsure whether to declare it? | |
![]() | If you are unsure, it is better to call the medical screening for advice. Failure to declare a pre-existing condition could invalidate certain parts of your policy. |
| Will my policy cover me if my trip is cancelled due to terrorist activity? | |

| I am in the military, am I covered if I am called for duty? | |
![]() | Yes. Our policy covers Cancellation or curtailment as a result of your posting overseas or emergency and unavoidable requirements of duty in the Armed Forces, Police, Fire, Nursing or Ambulance Services; |
| Can I purchase travel insurance if I am at the airport? | |

| I have made my own travel arrangements, not on a package; can I still take out insurance? | |

| Am I covered whilst riding a motorcycle? | |
![]() | You are covered to ride a motorcycle up to 250cc if qualified in your home country, subject to medical excess increased to ??100 and Personal Accident and Personal Liability excluded from cover: We may agree to cover you whilst riding your own motorcycle up to 1000cc upon your telephone application. |
| Can children be insured if travelling alone? | |

| Do annual policies cover UK travel? | |

| Is IPT included in the policy price? | |

| What do I do if I have my passport stolen? | |
![]() | Your policy will cover loss of passport whilst out of the country. Passport replacement will require a trip to the Consulate and may involve travel and accommodation costs. |
| What activities are covered by my insurance policy? | |
